There is a cliff that surrounds all of us on every side. We know it is there but most of us refuse to talk about it because there is nothing we can do. Or is there? This cliff is called “death”. We all understand that each of us will face it one day. We go through life with a blindfold on and hope today is not the day we stumble into eternity. It is a fact of life and for the most part we have very little control of when death will happen. Oh, we can sometimes delay it but death is inevitable. We must ask ourselves this question. Am I prepared to face eternity?
In Luke, chapter 12, Jesus spoke a parable saying: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded plentifully. And he thought within himself, saying, “What shall I do, since I have no room to store my crops?” So he said, ‘I will do this: I will pull down my barns and build greater: and there I will store all my crops and my goods. And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease: eat, drink and be merry.” But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?’ “So is he who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich towards God.”
So, are you prepared for that ‘cliff’ we call death? Put yourself on a mission to know God and His will for you. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” There is no better time than right now to ask Jesus to save you. Get down on your knees, admit you’re a sinner, and ask Jesus to save you. Ask Him to come into your heart and be the Lord of your life. You will never regret it. Be prepared for that ‘cliff’ we call death. You never know, today might be the day you step into eternity. Choose Jesus. Choose life!
