Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

On the eve of the crucifixion Jesus uttered this sixth “I Am” statement. Jesus, greatly troubled about what was in store for Him, spent His last night encouraging His disciples. He encouraged them to trust God (vs1). He spoke about many mansions in heaven (vs 2). He spoke of His second coming (vs. 3). He also answered the disciples’ questions (vs. 4-6). In this troublesome world there is great cause to be troubled. However, there is a greater cause not to be troubled as we are to trust God through life’s difficulties. Jesus is the way though life’s problems. We also need to realize that we are strangers and pilgrims in this life. This is not our home because we have a mansion awaiting our arrival. Many people do not like the word mansion and feel that the word abode or rooms would be a more suitable translation. The King James translators were not trying to glorify the dwelling place, but the God of the dwelling place. The word mansion encompasses the place where Jesus will be the undisputed King. It will be a place of love, joy, peace, holiness, and there will be no more sickness or death or pain. That is why the translators did not merely say rooms. They wanted us to see that a glorious place awaits each child of God. Jesus is the way to heaven. Jesus will return for His bride, and the church will be raptured out of this world. If you want to be a part of the second coming in a positive sense Jesus is the way. Through life we have many questions and concerns that sometimes overwhelm us. Jesus is the way to get the answers to life’s questions. In His divine sovereignty He might not answer your question till you reach heaven’s shore. All truth is exclusive! In mathematics 2 + 2 = 4 excluding all other answers. In science there is a law of gravity. In spiritual matters Jesus is the ONLY way to heaven. There is no other way. Do we get mad at the math teacher for her exclusive truths? Do we become angry at the science teacher for teaching the truth? So why do we get angry when Jesus said that He is the only way to heaven? He left heaven and humbled himself by becoming a man. He gave up everything to come and die for our sins. He gave His all for us that we might receive all of Him. Do you need help in life’s troubles? Jesus is the way! Do you want a home in heaven? Jesus is the way! Do you want to be part of the second coming? Jesus is the way! Do you need answers? Jesus is the way!

Dear Lord,

Thank You for Jesus my Savior and Lord. Now I ask that You help me in my troubles. Help me realize that I have a home in heaven and that I am just passing though this life. Help me focus on things above where You are seated. God I need answers and I ask that You would lead me and guide me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen
